Fontanesii, most commonly known as "Black Stem," is a much-underappreciated colocasia variety. This plant is a showstopper with its almost pure black petioles topped by deep, blue-green leaves that shimmer with a slight irodescense. You need to see this plant in person to fully appreciate its beauty, or you could just grow one for yourself. You will not regret it! I dismissed this plant for the longest time before finally adding one to my collection, and once it reached maturity, I found one was not nearly enough.
